The Islamabad district administration has launched a digital dashboard to register all taxi and bike-hailing services operating in the federal capital, targeting unregistered operators. The system allows passengers to verify drivers instantly through a QR code, confirming registration and credentials. Formal registration will begin immediately, with drivers required to enter passengers’ CNIC numbers and travel details on the Islamabad City App before starting trips.
The initiative aims to enhance passenger safety and ensure one-click verification of drivers. The administration has warned of strict action against unregistered operators, directing the Islamabad Transport Authority to crack down on non-compliant bike services and coordinating with taxi service CEOs to ensure full compliance. Complete driver and vehicle data will be collected through the digital platform, and Islamabad Police will have access to registration information. Unregistered drivers will not be permitted to carry passengers once the registration system is active.
