Sazgar has announced plans to begin local assembly of three Great Wall Motors (GWM) models in Pakistan, marking a significant step in the country’s automotive sector and deepening Chinese-Pakistan industrial collaboration. The vehicles to be assembled locally include the Tank 500, Poer Canon, and Poer Canon Alpha.

The Tank 500 will be available in both hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) variants, offering Pakistani consumers eco-friendly options with advanced technology. The Poer Canon and Poer Canon Alpha models will also come in PHEV variants, combining performance with reduced emissions.

Local assembly is expected to start with the Tank 500 by March 2026, followed shortly by the Canon series. Industry experts say this initiative will not only expand Pakistan’s electric and hybrid vehicle offerings but also contribute to technology transfer, job creation, and growth in the domestic auto industry. With Sazgar’s investment and GWM’s expertise, the project underscores the growing influence of Chinese automotive brands in Pakistan’s evolving vehicle market.
