OMODA & JAECOO has achieved a rare milestone in one of the world’s most competitive automotive markets, the United Kingdom, demonstrating rapid growth and strong consumer acceptance. In January 2026, the JAECOO 7 recorded 3,842 unit sales in a single month, earning second place in overall UK vehicle sales and surpassing well-established models like the Ford Puma, Nissan Qashqai, and Volkswagen Tiguan, as well as newer rivals such as the BYD Seal U. This performance stands out in a market long dominated by legacy brands and highlights the brand’s swift rise in a demanding environment.

Across its full model range, OMODA & JAECOO registered 6,550 sales in January, securing the 8th position in the UK’s monthly brand rankings. This placed the brand just behind premium names like Mercedes-Benz and positioned it as the top-selling Chinese automotive brand in the UK, ahead of MG and BYD. It also outperformed several established Japanese and South Korean manufacturers.

Since entering the UK market in September 2024, OMODA & JAECOO has shown exceptional momentum. In just 17 months, the brand moved from debut to mainstream contender, one of the fastest ascents in UK automotive history. By September 2025, monthly sales exceeded 10,000 units, and in October the brand overtook MG to become the leading Chinese brand in the UK for the first time. Full-year 2025 sales reached 48,087 units, delivering a 2.38 percent market share, ahead of globally recognised names including Tesla and MINI.

Industry observers have noted the speed of this growth as particularly impressive, with brands like Kia and MG historically taking decades to achieve similar market penetration in the UK. OMODA & JAECOO achieved it in under a year, marking a significant shift in the competitive landscape.

The brand’s success is built on a clear strategic identity. OMODA positions itself as “The World’s Leading Crossover Brand,” focusing on progressive design and smart technology, while JAECOO draws on classic off-road heritage with the philosophy “From Classic Beyond Classic,” emphasising advanced hybrid solutions and all-terrain capability. This differentiated approach has helped the brand earn trust among UK buyers, who are known for their high expectations, strict regulations, and preference for proven performance.
