Jazz, Pakistan’s leading connectivity provider, has partnered with global technology firm ZTE and local distributor Siccotel to make affordable 5G smartphones more accessible across the country. Currently, only about 2% of smartphones in Pakistan are 5G-enabled, limiting the impact of network upgrades and slowing digital readiness needed for national productivity and economic growth.

Through this collaboration, ZTE’s next-generation 5G smartphones will be introduced in Pakistan via Siccotel, with Jazz supporting nationwide distribution and market access. The initiative aims to remove major adoption barriers, particularly for students, young professionals, small businesses, and workers who will benefit from improved digital access.

Jazz’s Head of Consumer Growth, Asad Maqbool, emphasized that access to compatible smartphones is crucial for digital readiness, especially ahead of the upcoming spectrum auction. ZTE CEO Li Guowen highlighted the company’s commitment to making advanced technology more accessible, while Siccotel CEO Usman Sultan noted their focus on ensuring wide availability of 5G devices across Pakistan.

By improving access to 5G-ready smartphones, the partnership seeks to translate network advancements into tangible social and economic benefits, including enhanced learning, expanded digital services, and new entrepreneurial opportunities. This initiative reinforces Jazz’s commitment to supporting Pakistan’s inclusive and sustainable digital transformation.
