Pakistan and Malaysia have agreed to strengthen collaboration in the digital technology sector, marking a significant step in their bilateral relations. The agreement was reached during a meeting between Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Information Technology, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, and Malaysia’s Minister of Communications, Ahmad Fahmi bin Mohamed Fadzil, held on the sidelines of the World Telecommunication Development Conference in Baku, Azerbaijan. Both ministers highlighted the strong strategic partnership between the two nations and underscored the importance of expanding cooperation in emerging digital technologies. Shaza Fatima Khawaja emphasized that Pakistan’s digital transformation vision closely aligns with Malaysia’s MyDigital Blueprint, noting shared goals to build modern, technology-driven economies. As part of the discussion, Shaza Fatima proposed the launch of a Pakistan–Malaysia Digital Policy Dialogue to facilitate knowledge exchange, policy alignment, and joint initiatives. Both sides also agreed to promote talent mobility and skills development in high-demand fields such as artificial intelligence, data science, and the Internet of Things, aiming to nurture a skilled workforce capable of driving innovation in the digital era.
