Hutchison Ports Pakistan, the country’s only deep-water container terminal, is leading the way in sustainable port operations with a significant investment in green technology. The terminal now operates the largest fleet of fully electric container handling equipment in Pakistan, setting a new standard for environmentally responsible logistics infrastructure.
Following the introduction of six electric terminal tractors last year, the terminal has expanded its fleet with twelve additional electric terminal tractors, along with an electric empty container handler and an electric reach stacker — both firsts in Pakistan’s container terminal industry.
This forward-looking initiative highlights Hutchison Ports Pakistan’s commitment to reducing its environmental footprint while enhancing operational efficiency. By adopting electric-powered equipment, the terminal is supporting cleaner air, lower emissions, and more sustainable port practices, positioning itself as a future-ready hub for eco-conscious maritime trade.
