Pakistan Strengthens Economic Ties with Kuwait Through High-Level Meetings

Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Petroleum, Ali Pervaiz Malik, recently held high-level meetings with Kuwaiti officials to strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation across key economic sectors. During his visit, Malik met with Kuwait’s Minister of Finance and Renewable Energy and Chairman of the Kuwait Investment Authority (KIA), Dr. Subaih Al-Mukhaizeem, where both sides reaffirmed the longstanding ties between Pakistan and Kuwait. The discussions centered on enhancing collaboration in energy, investment, and trade, with a focus on creating mutual economic benefits.

Dr. Subaih Al-Mukhaizeem highlighted Kuwait’s substantial investment portfolio in Pakistan and expressed strong interest in exploring additional investment opportunities. He emphasized that the Kuwait Investment Authority is eager to work closely with Pakistani stakeholders to further expand bilateral investments.

Federal Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik welcomed Kuwait’s continued confidence in Pakistan’s economy and underscored the government’s commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment, particularly in the energy and infrastructure sectors. He stressed that promoting foreign investment remains a top priority for strengthening economic growth and sustainability.

In addition, Malik met with the Chairman of Meezan Bank Pakistan, Riyadh Al Edrissi, appreciating the bank’s strong performance and noting that successful foreign investments are crucial for building confidence in Pakistan’s financial sector. He also held a meeting with the Director General of the Kuwait Fund for Economic Development, Mr. Waleed Shamlan Ahmad, to discuss enhancing development financing and supporting socio-economic projects in Pakistan. These engagements reflect Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to deepen economic cooperation and attract international investment for sustainable development.
