Pakistan’s seafood exports recorded steady growth during the first five months of fiscal year 2025–26, reaching $173.7 million, marking an increase of over 7% compared to the same period last year. Between July and November 2025, approximately 75,766 metric tons of fish and fish products were exported, reflecting strong demand in international markets. Exports of meat and meat products also rose by more than 7%, while fresh fruit shipments generated nearly $150 million in revenue. In contrast, rice exports declined sharply during the same period, highlighting sector-specific challenges. Overall, food imports increased significantly, pointing to continuing trade imbalances within Pakistan’s food sector. The data underscores the potential for growth in seafood, meat, and fruit exports, while signaling the need for targeted policies to address declining rice exports and manage the rising import burden.
