Pakistan and Rwanda have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen bilateral cooperation, expand trade, and explore new investment opportunities. This was highlighted during a dinner in Islamabad hosted by Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry in honor of Rwanda’s Minister of Trade and Industry, Prudence Sebahizi. Minister Chaudhry emphasized that Gwadar Port is being developed as a key export hub for Africa, targeting the East African market of around 500 million consumers. He noted that newly developed maritime corridors, including the Karachi–Djibouti and Karachi–Mombasa routes, are expected to reduce trade costs by up to 30 percent and cut delivery times, boosting regional integration. Rwandan High Commissioner Harerimana Fatou welcomed the improved maritime connectivity, saying it would enhance bilateral trade and create new economic cooperation opportunities between the two countries.
