Will New Currency Notes Be Available This Eid? Latest Update on Availability

State Bank of Pakistan Governor Jameel Ahmad has confirmed that the newly redesigned currency notes will not be available by Eid, as the printing process cannot begin until the federal cabinet grants formal approval. He explained that preparations for issuing the new notes are still awaiting cabinet clearance, which means the redesigned currency will not be introduced into circulation before the upcoming holiday.

The governor also emphasized Pakistan’s ongoing commitment to maintaining a strict monetary policy framework under its agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). He highlighted that the country has already paid $6 billion in external debt and interest obligations as part of its broader financial commitments.
