Attock Refinery Suspends Heavy Crude Unit Operations

Attock Refinery Limited has announced a temporary shutdown of its Heavy Crude Unit following an unusual accumulation of Premier Motor Gasoline inventories caused by lower upliftment from oil marketing companies.

In a notification to the Pakistan Stock Exchange, the refinery stated that the Heavy Crude Unit was shut down effective February 5, 2026, as a strategic management decision to address elevated gasoline stock levels and prevent a complete shutdown of refinery operations.

The company clarified that other crude processing units will continue operating during this period, along with normal functioning of downstream processing units. The temporary suspension is intended to manage excess PMG inventory while ensuring stability across overall refinery activities.

Attock Refinery Limited further assured stakeholders that it will continue to fulfill its committed supply obligations and maintain uninterrupted fuel dispatches throughout the current month despite the partial shutdown.
