Pakistan marked a new chapter in its energy and trade relations with the United States as it received its first-ever shipment of U.S. crude oil on Wednesday. The milestone delivery arrived at Cnergyico’s offshore terminal, marking a significant step toward diversifying the country’s energy import sources.

The shipment, carried aboard the Suezmax vessel MT Pegasus, was successfully offloaded at Cnergyico’s Single Point Mooring (SPM) facility located off the coast of Balochistan. This offshore terminal allows for efficient handling of large crude oil carriers, strengthening Pakistan’s refining and supply infrastructure.

Earlier in August, it was reported that Cnergyico had finalized a deal with global energy trader Vitol to import one million barrels of U.S. crude oil during this period. The arrival of this cargo highlights the company’s commitment to exploring new markets and supply channels, while also reflecting growing commercial ties between Islamabad and Washington in the energy sector.

Industry analysts view this development as a positive move for Pakistan’s refining industry, which continues to seek reliable and cost-effective crude sources amid global market volatility.
