Chairman Air Karachi and well-known businessman Hanif Gohar has revealed that soil extracted from the Tarbela Dam may contain gold deposits valued at an estimated $636 billion. Speaking at the Karachi Press Club, Gohar shared that both the Prime Minister and the Army Chief have been informed about the potential discovery. According to him, the Army Chief responded positively and assured that immediate steps would be taken to verify and assess the findings.

Gohar explained that his team collected soil samples from within the dam using divers to confirm the presence of gold. The samples were then tested in laboratories to measure the concentration of gold particles. Based on the analysis, his team calculated the potential value by multiplying the detected gold ratio by the total soil volume, leading to an estimated worth of $636 billion.

He emphasized that if officially verified, the discovery could have a significant impact on Pakistan’s economy, offering an opportunity to ease the country’s debt burden and strengthen its financial stability.
