During his visit to Pakistan, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Ghalibaf emphasized the need for stronger defense cooperation among Muslim nations, suggesting that Iran should also be included in any future regional defense agreement.

In an interview with a private television channel, Ghalibaf proposed that the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) take concrete steps toward forming a joint Islamic military force modeled after NATO. He explained that such a coalition would enable Muslim countries to safeguard their shared interests, ensure regional stability, and collectively respond to emerging security challenges.

The Iranian Speaker stressed that unity among Islamic nations is crucial in the face of global conflicts and political pressures. He noted that collaboration in defense, intelligence, and technology could enhance the collective strength of the Muslim world and help protect its sovereignty and independence.

Ghalibaf’s remarks come amid growing discussions on regional defense integration and the need for Muslim-majority countries to adopt a coordinated approach to security, peacekeeping, and crisis management under the umbrella of the OIC.
