79-Year-Old Former Teacher from Tharparkar Graduates in Law from University of Karachi

Sukh Ram Das, a former government school teacher from Tharparkar, has inspired many after earning his law degree from the University of Karachi at the age of 79. Defying conventional notions of age and learning, he enrolled in the university’s Law Department at 74 and successfully completed his studies five years later.

Hailing from Hilario Pir village in Diplo tehsil, Sukh Ram Das is a father of eight sons and one daughter. He revealed that his motivation to pursue legal education stemmed from a desire to support himself in later life and assist underprivileged members of his community. By gaining legal knowledge, he hopes to help locals navigate issues such as land disputes and other challenges, demonstrating that determination and lifelong learning have no age limits.
