Pakistan’s Higher Education Commission has introduced Maktab, a digital platform designed to maintain detailed student records, including enrollment, grades, transcripts, and degrees. Initially implemented in 25 public universities, the system will gradually expand across the country to improve transparency, simplify academic tracking, and reduce administrative delays. The platform incorporates artificial intelligence for secure record management and enables students and parents to submit complaints through online portals. The first phase targets BS program admissions, benefiting approximately 4,000 students. In addition, the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen has launched a 24-hour online system for equivalence and verification, facilitating efficient international registration and contributing to the overall modernization of Pakistan’s education sector.
