Ali Tahir Shares Emotional Update on Father’s Cancer Diagnosis

Ali Tahir, a prominent Pakistani television actor, first gained fame with his role in the classic PTV sitcom Teen Bata Teen. Over the years, he has starred in several hit dramas, including Inkaar, Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay, Shirin Farhad, Sher, Zard Patton Ka Bunn, and Qalandar. Ali comes from a distinguished artistic family—he is the son of veteran actor, educationist, and writer Naeem Tahir, and celebrated radio personality Yasmeen Tahir. He is married to actress Wajeeha Tahir, who also appeared in Teen Bata Teen alongside him.

Recently, Ali Tahir appeared on Good Morning Pakistan, hosted by Nida Yasir, where he opened up about a difficult time in his family’s life—his father’s cancer diagnosis in 2006. He recalled the shock of the news, saying it arrived just before Maghrib, creating an emotional moment at the dinner table. Despite the gravity of the situation, Ali praised his father’s courage, noting that Naeem Tahir decided to undergo surgery within two days. The operation involved the removal of one kidney and was successful.

Ali shared valuable health advice with viewers, explaining that his father had experienced blood in his urine without any pain—a symptom that prompted immediate medical attention and ultimately led to an early cancer diagnosis. Thankfully, he added, his father has fully recovered and is healthy today. This candid discussion highlights the importance of early detection and facing health challenges with determination.
