Health authorities in the Rawalpindi division have reported cases of Super Flu (Influenza AH3), prompting increased surveillance and preventive measures, reported on Monday. According to the Health Department, the situation remains under control, with the spread of the virus currently limited.

During the ongoing month, health teams screened 22 suspected patients, confirming four positive cases of the AH3 strain—three in Rawalpindi and one in Murree. All patients recovered fully after receiving timely medical treatment. In addition, contact tracing identified one secondary positive case among close contacts, highlighting the authorities’ proactive monitoring efforts.

The Health Department has placed the AH3 virus under strict observation due to its severe nature and continues to track potential cases closely. Officials emphasized that, as of now, no widespread transmission has been reported in Rawalpindi.

Citizens have been urged to adopt preventive measures to minimize the risk of infection, including maintaining physical distance if experiencing flu-like symptoms, washing hands regularly, and following proper hygiene practices. Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely to prevent further spread of the virus.
