The KAUST International Internship in Saudi Arabia for 2025 is a fully funded global opportunity offered by the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology. The program invites talented students from around the world to join the Visiting Student Research Program for a duration of three to six months. As one of the most competitive international internships in the Middle East, it welcomes applicants from all backgrounds, countries, and academic fields. Its purpose is to support students who want to build advanced research skills, gain international work experience, and strengthen their academic and professional profiles. The internship is open to undergraduate and master’s students who are in their third year of studies, have recently completed a bachelor’s degree, or are currently enrolled in a master’s program. Each year, KAUST selects around 130 international interns, providing them the chance to work under the supervision of leading researchers, scientists, and engineers. This exposure allows students to enhance their technical knowledge, participate in advanced research projects, and benefit from a multicultural academic environment. KAUST offers more than 100 research fields for applicants to choose from, including bioengineering, bioscience, computer science, cybersecurity, marine science, environmental science, materials science, earth science, applied mathematics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, plant science, chemical engineering, statistics, energy resources and petroleum engineering. Students may work in laboratories, engage in fieldwork, attend workshops, and participate in conferences that support academic and professional development. Along with scientific training, interns also get the opportunity to join cultural activities and community events at KAUST, helping them understand local traditions while interacting with international peers. All expenses for the internship are fully covered. Each selected student receives a monthly stipend of 1000 USD, a private bedroom with an attached bathroom, round-trip airfare, visa support, health insurance, and access to university resources. Because the internship is fully funded, participants do not need to worry about accommodation or travel costs. The program also offers opportunities to build professional networks, which can be valuable for securing future jobs or research positions abroad. To be eligible for the KAUST internship, applicants must meet several requirements. They must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 out of 4.0, although some research areas may require a GPA above 3.6. Applicants must also be proficient in English and able to provide all required documents. KAUST accepts applications from all nationalities, making it an inclusive opportunity for students worldwide. The required documents include official academic transcripts in English, a letter of recommendation, a personal statement, a valid passport, and a complete CV. These documents help the selection committee evaluate the academic background, research interest, and motivation of each applicant. This fully funded research internship in Saudi Arabia is an excellent chance for international students to gain practical experience, work in world-class laboratories, and prepare for professional careers in science and technology. The program also helps interns build leadership skills, explore research opportunities, and position themselves for future job prospects both within Saudi Arabia and internationally. Go back |
