Applications are now open for the RIPS Summer Internship 2026 in Los Angeles, offering a fully funded opportunity for undergraduate students and recent graduates in mathematics, computer science, and related fields. The Research in Industrial Projects for Students program allows international students to work in teams on research projects proposed by industry or public-sector sponsors. Participants will receive guidance from academic and industry mentors to develop research findings, which will be presented in both written and oral formats during the nine-week program from June 22 to August 21, 2026, at UCLA.

International students at least 18 years old are eligible to apply, including undergraduates and recent graduates who completed their degrees no earlier than December 2024. Students with strong academic backgrounds in mathematics, computer science, or related disciplines are encouraged to apply. The program is fully funded, providing a monthly stipend of US$4,200, free accommodation at UCLA residence halls, round-trip travel to Los Angeles, meal allowances, visa sponsorship, and partial support for site visits and selected conferences.

RIPS Summer Internship participants will work on multiple research projects with computational or data analysis components, gaining hands-on experience under top mentors. The internship provides access to office space, technical support, and research resources at IPAM, allowing students to collaborate with international researchers and peers from around the world. Participants may also have the opportunity to present or publish their research findings, contributing to professional development and global networking in academic and research communities.

Applicants are required to submit a CV, academic transcripts, and two references through the official application form. All documents must be uploaded and submitted before the February 2, 2026 deadline. This internship provides a competitive, fully funded platform for talented students to enhance skills, gain international research experience, and establish connections with a global network of scholars while exploring professional and academic opportunities in the United States.
