The Government of Punjab has launched a new IT internship program aimed at providing fresh graduates with hands-on experience in the technology sector. This initiative seeks to strengthen the link between academic learning and real-world application, helping young professionals prepare for careers in Pakistan’s rapidly expanding digital economy.
The program focuses on giving participants exposure to professional environments within IT companies, where they can develop technical expertise, learn industry practices, and gain insight into workplace dynamics. By doing so, it bridges the gap between classroom education and practical job skills, ensuring that graduates are better equipped for employment opportunities in the tech sector.
Eligible applicants include graduates from diverse fields such as computer science, information technology, data science, artificial intelligence, cyber security, telecom and networking, multimedia, graphic design, and other closely related disciplines. To qualify, candidates must have completed at least 16 years of education within the last four years, be currently unemployed, hold a Punjab domicile, and possess a valid CNIC. The program is open to all genders.
Selected interns will benefit from a five-month paid internship, receiving a monthly stipend of Rs. 50,000. IT companies hosting interns will also receive Rs. 12,500 per participant as support. A total of 2,000 internship positions are available under this initiative.
Applications can be submitted online through the official government portal. The internship program is expected to enhance job readiness among IT graduates, empower youth with practical digital skills, and contribute to the continued growth of Punjab’s information technology ecosystem.
