Chinese smartphone company Realme has announced that it will fully merge into Oppo and operate as a sub-brand, a strategic move aimed at streamlining operations, sharing resources, and reducing overall costs. Both brands are already part of BBK Electronics, but the integration is expected to bring them even closer, enabling more efficient collaboration in research and development, supply chain management, and product design.

Realme stated that leveraging Oppo’s larger infrastructure, advanced technology, and industry experience will enhance product quality and accelerate innovation. Despite the merger, Realme will continue to sell its own smartphones and serve its customer base as usual. The brand has a strong presence in markets such as Pakistan, India, Southeast Asia, and parts of Europe, where it is known for delivering feature-rich smartphones at competitive prices. With Oppo’s backing, Realme aims to strengthen its market position and expand further in these regions.

BBK Electronics, which also owns Vivo, remains one of the largest smartphone groups globally. The closer partnership between Realme and Oppo reflects BBK’s broader strategy to maintain competitiveness in the international smartphone market while minimizing internal costs and operational overlap.
