Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkiye Pledge Enhanced Defence Cooperation

Top military officials from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkiye met in Riyadh on Friday, September 25, where they reiterated their dedication to mutual defence and pledged to swiftly implement the Makkah Joint Defense Agreement, according to a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Saturday.

During the meeting, the Chiefs of Defence Forces and Chiefs of General Staff of the three nations condemned attacks on the Holy City of Makkah and on Saudi Arabia’s civilian and economic infrastructure. The officials voiced their firm commitment to ensuring the Kingdom's security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

The participants also assessed the developing security situation and threats to Saudi Arabia, expressing appreciation for the Saudi Armed Forces’ vigilance and professionalism in protecting the country and its people.

Discussion during the meeting focused on increasing defence collaboration, including improved intelligence sharing, military coordination, and the integration of capabilities among the three countries’ armed forces.

All sides acknowledged the history of long-standing relations and mutual trust among their armed forces and stated that the trilateral meeting in Riyadh underscored the strong defence ties and the shared resolve to promptly translate the Makkah Joint Defense Agreement into practical military cooperation.
