Fatima Fertilizer has recognised the achievements of wheat growers at a prize distribution ceremony for the Sarsabz Ki Jeet Wheat Yield Competition, where farmers using its Sarsabz Nitrophos and Calcium Ammonium Nitrate (CAN) products dominated the Punjab Wheat Yield Competition 2025-26 announced by the Government of Punjab. According to the company, Sarsabz users secured all three provincial positions and 119 out of 120 district-level positions across the province.

In the provincial ranking, Sajjad Hussain of Muzaffargarh took first place with a yield of 69 maunds and 39.4 kilograms per acre. Shafiq Ahmed of Attock followed with 69 maunds and 39.1 kilograms per acre, while Muhammad Asghar of Rahim Yar Khan placed third with 69 maunds and 24.1 kilograms per acre. Three tractors were awarded to the provincial winners, while Honda CD 70 motorcycles and LED televisions were presented to district-level winners.

The ceremony was addressed virtually by Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain, who congratulated the company and the winning farmers. He said increasing wheat production and improving crop yields are essential for strengthening Pakistan's food security, and that the government is committed to procuring every grain of wheat in coordination with provincial governments. He also pointed to initiatives aimed at improving farmers' access to quality seeds, modern technology and agricultural financing, and called for joint efforts by government, the private sector, research institutions and farmers.

Additional Chief Secretary Punjab Iftikhar Ali Sahoo described farmers as the backbone of the economy and food security, and highlighted farmer-friendly policies including a wheat support price of Rs 4,500 per maund and Rs 150 billion in interest-free loans disbursed to one million farmers through the Kissan Card since October 15. Secretary Agriculture Punjab Shakeel Ahmad Mian and Pakistan Kissan Ittehad President Khalid Khokhar were also among those attending.

Fatima Fertilizer's Director of Marketing and Sales, Rabel Sadozai, said Sarsabz users also claimed all three provincial positions and 97 of 120 district positions in the previous 2024-25 competition, and that this year's results show improvement. The company said the winning yields of roughly 69 to 70 maunds per acre compare with an indicative national average of about 33 maunds per acre, effectively doubling output, and that it supports growers through agricultural advisory services and soil testing facilities.

The company said its Sarsabz range, including Nitrophos and CAN, is intended to promote balanced crop nutrition and better farming practices. The results were framed as evidence of the potential to raise national wheat productivity through informed fertiliser use and agronomic guidance, contributing to the country's food security goals.
