Russia has reportedly suspended Pakistan Post’s international services after the Pakistani postal department failed to settle outstanding payments totaling Rs. 55 million. The suspension, which came into effect in August 2025, restricts mail and parcel services between the two countries until the dues are cleared.

Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan confirmed the development in a written reply to the National Assembly, stating that Pakistan Post had not fulfilled its financial obligations, which have been pending since 2021. According to the ministry, the total amount owed by Pakistan Post to Russian counterparts exceeds Rs. 310 million as of November 12, 2021.

The minister added that the government intends to release the necessary funds through the Finance Division to settle the outstanding payments. Once the dues are cleared, Pakistan Post’s services to and from Russia are expected to resume, restoring normal postal and logistics operations between the two countries. The suspension has reportedly affected businesses and individuals relying on cross-border postal services, highlighting the need for timely settlement of international obligations.
