Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced strict action against illegal hotels and encroachments in Murree as part of efforts to improve regulation and protect the hill station’s natural environment. She said unchecked construction and encroachments have damaged Murree’s infrastructure, ecology, and overall appeal, stressing that preserving the area is essential for sustainable tourism.

The chief minister directed relevant authorities to conduct comprehensive surveys, identify violations, and take immediate legal action against properties operating without approval. She also emphasized the need for better planning, proper waste management, and enforcement of building regulations to prevent further environmental degradation.

Maryam Nawaz said the government is committed to safeguarding Murree for residents and visitors alike, ensuring that development takes place within the law while maintaining the hill station’s scenic beauty and long-term sustainability.
