Heavy snowfall has led authorities to restrict movement on the Islamabad–Murree Expressway (N-75), with general traffic temporarily barred from entering the route toward Murree. The National Highways and Motorway Police reported that the Phoolgaran Toll Plaza entry point has been closed to regular vehicles due to worsening road conditions caused by intense snow.
Despite the closure, the expressway remains open for local residents and emergency services, allowing essential travel to continue while officials manage the situation. Authorities have warned the public to avoid unnecessary travel, as snow can make roads slippery, reduce visibility, and increase the risk of accidents, particularly on hilly stretches.
The move comes amid ongoing winter weather activity in the region, with forecasts suggesting that Murree and surrounding areas could experience extended snowfall. This raises the likelihood of intermittent road blockages and travel disruptions, especially during peak hours and at night. Travelers have been advised to ensure vehicles are winter-ready, follow official guidance, and postpone trips until conditions improve.
