The Punjab Benazir Mazdoor Card 2026 is a government-backed welfare initiative designed to support registered industrial and commercial workers in Punjab. This smart card functions as a debit card, worker identification, and gateway to social security benefits, allowing workers to access salaries, healthcare, and other welfare programs without intermediaries. The card enables financial inclusion by allowing salary withdrawals and government grants through Bank of Punjab ATMs while providing digital payroll tracking for transparency and accountability.
It also provides access to medical facilities at 23 PESSI hospitals and over 250 dispensaries, covering outpatient care, emergency treatment, and essential medicines. Additionally, registered workers can benefit from discounts ranging from 5 to 45 percent at more than 150 partner outlets, including grocery stores, clothing shops, and household retailers. The program also simplifies access to welfare grants such as marriage support, death compensation, and education scholarships for workers’ children. Digital payroll systems ensure timely payments and compliance with minimum wage laws, reducing underpayment issues. Eligibility for the card requires workers to be registered with PESSI, employed in a formal industrial or commercial unit, possess a valid CNIC, and have their employer complete official registration.
Informal workers must be enrolled by their employer to qualify. Applications are processed through employers and PESSI, with biometric verification conducted at Bank of Punjab or PESSI offices before the card is issued. The Punjab Benazir Mazdoor Card operates independently from the Sindh Mazdoor Card, with both programs serving similar purposes but managed by their respective provincial authorities. The card can be used for salary withdrawals, accessing PESSI hospitals, and shopping at partner retail outlets.
There is no fee for the card, and its validity is tied to employment and social security status. Workers are advised to verify registration status with their employer or nearest PESSI office to ensure smooth access. The Punjab Benazir Mazdoor Card 2026 provides financial security, healthcare access, and family benefits, promoting worker welfare and transparency in Punjab’s industrial and commercial sectors.
