The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has taken legal action against several hotels on Islamabad Club Road for illegally encroaching on green areas, the National Assembly was informed. Interior and Narcotics Control Minister Senator Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi stated in a written reply that 10 hotels and motels along Islamabad Club Road and Murree Road had developed unauthorized parking on the green belt within the road’s right of way, constituting encroachments on public land.
The minister noted that these illegal parking areas were demolished on August 6, 2024, with assistance from the CDA Enforcement Directorate. Challans for the unauthorized constructions have been filed in the Court of Senior Special Magistrate, CDA, to pursue legal action against the establishments under applicable rules.
Addressing concerns about delays in enforcement, the minister added that repeated operations are being conducted to remove encroachments and that the legal proceedings are ongoing before the Senior Special Magistrate.
