Murree is enhancing its winter tourism preparations with a comprehensive safety plan designed to ensure a secure and enjoyable experience for visitors during the peak season. Running from December 15 to February 25, winter in Murree often brings heavy snow, traffic blockages, and overcrowding, prompting authorities to introduce stronger management measures this year.

As part of the new winter safety plan, 20 snow-clearing vehicles have been deployed to keep major roads open, while 19 facilitation centres will assist tourists with guidance and emergency support. A dedicated military contingent will monitor the area around the clock, working in coordination with NDMA, Rescue 1122, police, and Civil Defence teams to respond quickly to any incident.

To improve traffic flow and reduce congestion, parking on main roads has been banned, and vehicle entry will be regulated based on weather and crowd conditions. Hotels have been directed to follow fixed rates for accommodation, food, and recreational services to prevent overcharging during the busy winter period.

Visitors are encouraged to travel with proper winter gear, including warm clothing, blankets, snow chains, and essential supplies, in case of extreme weather or delays. Authorities are also implementing measures to manage crowds and minimize disputes, ensuring a smoother experience for families and tourists.

The overall aim of these precautions is to reduce risks, maintain order, and provide timely assistance when needed. With these steps, Murree hopes to offer a safer, more organized winter season and give tourists the confidence to enjoy the snowfall and scenic beauty of Pakistan’s most popular hill station.
