The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has implemented a revised gas load management schedule across Balochistan aimed at providing greater convenience and relief to residents. This change comes in response to recommendations from both the Chief Minister and the Chief Justice of the Balochistan High Court, reflecting efforts to address public concerns over prolonged gas outages. Under the updated schedule, gas supply will now be suspended daily from 12 a.m. to 5 a.m., replacing the previous shutdown period of 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. By delaying the start of the load-shedding to midnight, households can now access gas during the critical late evening hours, when most families engage in cooking, heating, and other essential domestic activities. SSGC officials explained that the decision was made to minimize disruption to daily life, particularly for households that heavily rely on gas during peak evening hours. The adjustment also aims to ensure a more balanced distribution of limited gas supplies across the province, maintaining service continuity while managing operational constraints. The revised timings are expected to benefit both urban and rural consumers, providing them with greater predictability and comfort during winter months when heating demands are highest. SSGC has emphasized that these measures are part of ongoing efforts to optimize gas distribution, reduce public inconvenience, and maintain reliable service under current supply limitations. Residents are encouraged to plan their gas usage according to the new schedule to ensure minimal disruption to household routines. The company has also indicated that it will continue monitoring the situation and may make further adjustments if necessary to balance supply and demand efficiently across the region. Go back |
