Inspector General Javed Alam Odho clarified the enforcement policy for traffic violations, emphasizing a balanced approach that encourages compliance while holding repeat offenders accountable. According to Odho, first-time traffic violators will be forgiven as part of a leniency measure designed to educate motorists and promote adherence to traffic rules. However, individuals who commit the same violation more than once will be required to pay all fines, including any previous challans, ensuring that repeated negligence carries tangible consequences.

He further explained that motorists who settle their challans within 14 days of issuance will receive a 50% discount on the fine, providing an incentive for prompt payment and reinforcing responsible behavior on the roads. Odho urged citizens to comply with this timeline, warning that failure to pay on time could result in additional penalties, legal action, or other enforcement measures.

This policy aims to cultivate a culture of traffic discipline across the province, balancing education and enforcement to reduce accidents, improve road safety, and ensure that all motorists take traffic regulations seriously. By forgiving first-time offenders while strictly penalizing repeat violators, the traffic authorities intend to create a system that is fair, effective, and focused on long-term behavioral change among drivers.
