In the aftermath of Cyclone Ditwah, which caused severe flooding and landslides across Sri Lanka, the Pakistan Navy deployed a humanitarian relief mission to assist the affected population. The warship PNS Saif delivered essential aid at Colombo Port, providing immediate support to communities severely impacted by the disaster. The shipment included ready-to-eat meals, dry rations, medicines, first-aid kits, and other critical supplies necessary for survival and recovery.

The mission underscores Pakistan’s solidarity with Sri Lanka during a major humanitarian crisis, where more than 500,000 people were displaced, 153 confirmed dead, and 191 reported missing. The assistance aims to offer rapid relief to displaced families, ensure access to basic necessities, and support ongoing recovery and rehabilitation efforts in the hardest-hit areas. This timely intervention reflects Pakistan’s commitment to regional cooperation and humanitarian assistance in times of natural disasters.
