In a rare show of political unity, the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly unanimously passed a resolution calling for the creation of a separate Hazara province. Lawmakers from both the government and opposition also joined efforts to demand a larger financial share for the province in the upcoming National Finance Commission (NFC) meeting, seeking to raise K-P’s allocation from 14.6% to 19.4%. During the session, the assembly approved several other resolutions, including recognizing Zulfikar Ali Bhutto as a national martyr, preventing the misuse of the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) against political workers, and restoring the tobacco quota for farmers. Members emphasized that securing K-P’s fair share of resources is crucial for regional development, strengthening security, and supporting the merged districts, highlighting the province’s strategic and economic significance in national planning.
