Karachi Police have issued a strong warning that aerial firing on New Year’s Eve will be treated as attempted murder, underscoring a zero-tolerance policy toward activities that endanger public safety. Authorities have emphasized that celebratory gunfire often results in serious injuries and fatalities, and those involved will face strict legal action under the law.

To prevent such incidents, stringent security measures have been enforced across the city, including the imposition of Section 144, enhanced police patrolling, and snap checking at sensitive locations. Law enforcement officials confirmed that hundreds of licensed weapons have already been taken into custody as part of preventive actions, while 1,431 police officers have been deployed at key points to maintain law and order.

Police have urged residents to celebrate responsibly and adhere to safety guidelines, warning that reckless behavior will not be tolerated. Special traffic and security arrangements have also been put in place, with road closures in DHA and other areas to manage crowds and ensure smooth movement during celebrations.

The Karachi Police have appealed to citizens to cooperate with security personnel, report suspicious activity, and avoid actions that could put lives at risk, stressing that collective responsibility is essential to ensure a safe and peaceful New Year celebration across the city.
