Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has announced that vehicles without M-tags will be prohibited from entering Islamabad starting January 1. During a meeting at Safe City Headquarters, he reviewed ongoing security and public safety measures and instructed authorities to accelerate efforts to transform Islamabad into Pakistan’s first smart city.

Naqvi also inspected the city’s surveillance facilities, including the Chinese desk monitoring system, and highlighted that the M-tag policy will play a key role in regulating traffic, improving security, and enabling better monitoring across the capital.

Authorities have been directed to finalize a comprehensive plan to strengthen Safe City projects and enhance urban management systems, ensuring more efficient traffic control, public safety, and overall city governance.
