Deputy Speaker of the Punjab Assembly, Malik Zaheer Iqbal Channar, has launched a major road construction project in Bahawalpur valued at Rs 741.32 million under the “Restore Roads, Prosper Punjab” initiative. The project is part of a broader effort to improve transportation infrastructure across both rural and urban areas, reflecting Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision for a more connected and prosperous province.

Implemented through the SAP-VII program in collaboration with the Punjab Highway Department, the initiative aims to provide modern, safe, and efficient travel facilities for local residents. This includes the construction of new roads and the expansion of existing routes to reduce travel time, enhance accessibility, and support economic activity throughout the region.

The commencement of road construction and widening marks a significant milestone in Punjab’s infrastructure development, signaling tangible progress toward the government’s goal of modernizing transport networks and improving quality of life for communities across the province.
