Seaview beach and its surrounding areas in Karachi will remain open to the public on New Year’s Eve, according to city authorities, who have also announced extensive security and traffic arrangements to ensure a safe and orderly environment during celebrations.

The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) for the South district has issued a clear warning to revellers against engaging in aerial firing, one-wheeling, or any other reckless activities that could endanger public safety. Police officials have cautioned that strict legal action will be taken, including the registration of attempted murder cases against individuals found involved in celebratory aerial firing.

To maintain law and order at one of Karachi’s most popular public destinations, police have finalized a comprehensive security plan for New Year’s Eve. More than 2,400 police officers and personnel have been deployed across Seaview and nearby areas. This includes six police platoons stationed at key locations to prevent hooliganism and respond swiftly to any untoward incidents. Senior police officials will personally oversee the security arrangements to ensure effective coordination and enforcement.

The security deployment also features 80 mobile patrol units and 106 motorcycle patrols to maintain a strong on-ground presence and enable rapid response. In addition, mounted police units will patrol the area on horseback, while intelligence teams have been instructed to remain on high alert and closely monitor the situation for any potential threats or disturbances.

Alongside security measures, traffic management plans have been put in place to minimize congestion and facilitate smooth movement of vehicles. Both tracks from Seaview McDonald’s to Khayaban-e-Ittehad will be converted into one-way routes on New Year’s Eve to improve traffic flow and reduce bottlenecks.

Authorities have urged the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies, follow safety guidelines, and celebrate responsibly so that New Year’s Eve festivities at Seaview can remain peaceful and enjoyable for everyone.
