The third phase of the Punjab Green Tractor Scheme is set to launch in January 2026, as part of the provincial government’s efforts to modernize farming practices and boost agricultural productivity across Punjab. This initiative provides farmers with access to modern, high-performance tractors at heavily subsidized rates, making advanced machinery more affordable and accessible for small and medium-scale farmers.

During the first phase of the program, a total of 10,000 tractors with 50 to 75 horsepower were distributed among farmers, helping them improve efficiency and reduce reliance on manual labor. The second phase focused on slightly higher-powered tractors, allocating 10,000 units with 75 to 85 horsepower through a lottery system to ensure fair distribution.

For 2026, the Punjab government plans a significant expansion of the scheme, aiming to distribute over 20,000 tractors. This includes 9,500 high-horsepower models ranging from 75 to 125 HP, intended to strengthen mechanization in key agricultural regions. By introducing more powerful and efficient tractors, the program seeks to enhance crop yields, reduce farming costs, and promote sustainable agricultural practices, positioning Punjab as a leader in modern farming within Pakistan.

This government-backed initiative not only supports farmers in upgrading their equipment but also contributes to the broader goal of improving food security and the overall economic growth of the province through enhanced agricultural productivity.
