Consumers in Pakistan may enjoy relief on fuel costs as petroleum prices are expected to decrease starting January 1, 2026, pending government approval. Petrol prices could drop by up to Rs10.60 per litre, while high-speed diesel may fall by Rs8.59 per litre. Other petroleum products are also likely to see reductions, with kerosene oil expected to decrease by Rs8.92 per litre and light diesel oil by Rs6.62 per litre. The anticipated decline in fuel prices could ease household expenses, lower transport and freight costs, and help reduce overall inflationary pressures. The government will finalize and announce the official prices after reviewing applicable taxes, duties, and levies, ensuring that consumers benefit from the revised rates at the start of the new year.
