The Islamabad Traffic Police have intensified their campaign against motorcycle lane violations, combining strict enforcement with rider education to improve road discipline in the capital. Launched on January 1, 2026, the initiative targets major city roads to ensure motorcyclists follow designated lanes, aiming not only to issue fines but also to educate riders about traffic rules and safety for long-term behavior change.

Authorities report that the campaign has already achieved notable results, with lane violations dropping by up to 95 percent on key routes such as Club Road and Srinagar Highway. Traffic flow has improved, and congestion has decreased in these areas, demonstrating the impact of the combined enforcement and awareness approach.

Chief Traffic Officer Captain Hamza Humayun acknowledged the efforts of officers showing exceptional performance during the campaign. In a formal ceremony, certificates were awarded to top-performing personnel for their dedication and professionalism in enforcing traffic laws while engaging positively with the public.

Official footage from the campaign highlights traffic police stopping violators, educating riders on proper lane usage, and managing traffic more efficiently. The Islamabad Traffic Police emphasized that the campaign will continue with a dual focus on enforcement and public awareness, aiming to create safer roads for all commuters.
