Government Reveals Likely Release Date for New Currency Notes

The State Bank of Pakistan has completed preparations for issuing newly designed Pakistani Rupee currency notes and is now awaiting federal cabinet approval to proceed. The Pakistan Security Printing Corporation has confirmed that the upcoming notes will include modern, enhanced security features, although the final designs are yet to be formally received for printing. Once approval is granted, the printing process is expected to take at least two months.

Senior Manager Printing Amir Shams stated that consultations between the central bank and the PSPC have focused on the production of the new currency. The State Bank is evaluating whether the new notes will be introduced in phases or all denominations will be issued at once. The official printing schedule and release timeline will be announced later this year, with the new Pakistani Rupee notes expected to enter circulation following cabinet approval.
