The Punjab government has announced that starting February 1, citizens will be able to access 210 services from 15 departments through the e-Biz Portal, enabling online access without visiting government offices. This initiative is part of the chief minister’s digital governance plan, which aims to expand the portal to 310 services by March, providing broader access to public services through a single digital platform. The decision was taken by the Administrative Secretaries’ Committee during a meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman at the Civil Secretariat. Officials reviewed strategies to accelerate the implementation of e-governance across the province. The chief secretary directed the Punjab Information Technology Board to ensure that all 310 services are onboarded to the e-Biz Portal by the March deadline. Departments were also instructed to migrate their field offices and attached institutions to the e-FOAS system following its successful rollout at the departmental level. Zaman emphasized that digitizing administrative processes will streamline workflow, improve decision-making, and reduce the need for repeated visits to government offices, making public services more accessible and efficient for citizens.
