The Senate raised concerns over the excessive and unsupervised use of social media by young children. Senator Falak Naz brought attention to the growing exposure of minors to digital platforms without proper monitoring, highlighting the potential social and psychological risks.

Federal Minister Tariq Fazal Chaudhry emphasized that the issue is critical and requires national-level discussion, involving multiple stakeholders to address its wide-ranging implications. Senate presiding officer Sherry Rehman noted the sensitivity of the matter, stating it could not be handled solely by the IT committee. She announced that, under the direction of the Senate Chairman, a special committee would be formed to review the issue, with input from the Ministry of Law and other relevant authorities.
