The PM Health Card 2026 has been relaunched in Pakistan, offering free medical treatment up to Rs 1 million per family. Also known as the Sehat Sahulat Program, this government-funded health insurance initiative provides eligible families with cashless treatment at approved hospitals across selected regions of the country. The program was relaunched under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to restore universal health coverage for low- and middle-income households, acting as a financial safety net during serious health emergencies.

The PM Health Card 2026 allows beneficiaries to access treatment at both government and private hospitals using a CNIC or B-Form instead of a physical card. Millions of eligible families are covered, with a fully cashless system designed to reduce financial stress during hospitalization. The program is active in selected federal and regional areas, including Islamabad Capital Territory, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Punjab under Sehat Card Plus, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and limited coverage for Karachi residents. Sindh coverage is currently limited under the federal scheme.

The program focuses on in-patient hospital treatment, divided into two categories. Priority care covers high-cost, life-threatening conditions such as heart diseases, cardiac surgery, cancer treatment, dialysis, neurosurgery, and organ transplants, with an annual coverage limit of Rs 1,000,000 per family. Secondary care includes general surgeries and medical treatments requiring hospital admission, with an annual limit of Rs 60,000. Outpatient visits and routine checkups are not included.

Eligibility can be checked via SMS by sending your 13-digit CNIC to 8500 or online through the official Sehat Sahulat portal. Using the PM Health Card at hospitals is simple and fully cashless. Beneficiaries can confirm eligibility, locate an empaneled hospital, visit the Sehat Sahulat desk, present a CNIC or child’s B-Form, and receive treatment without advance payment or reimbursement.

The PM Health Card 2026 provides free hospitalization and surgeries, access to private hospitals in covered areas, eliminates cash handling, and ensures nationwide financial protection for families during emergencies. Only eligible families listed in government records can use the program, and a physical health card is not required.

By offering free medical cover up to Rs 1 million per family, the PM Health Card 2026 is a significant step toward affordable healthcare in Pakistan, ensuring families can access quality treatment without financial burden.
