The Directorate of Drugs Control in Punjab has issued an urgent medicine recall alert, suspending the sale and use of multiple batches of veterinary injections after they were found to be substandard and misbranded. Retailers, wholesalers, and distributors in possession of these products have been instructed to immediately stop sales and report their current inventory and usage records to local drug inspectors.

The Drug Testing Laboratories Punjab declared the medicines substandard, prompting the Provincial Quality Control Board to order their recall from the market. Manufacturers have also been directed to withdraw the affected batches to ensure the safety of veterinary treatments. The recalled medicines include Injection Oxytovetz 50ml with registration number 111468 and batch number 25129681 expiring in February 2027, Injection I-PENRIT-5 with registration number 079517 and batch number 0053 expiring in May 2027, Injection Duralin 50 50ml with registration number 078206 and batch number 5782 expiring in May 2027, and Injection Ivotek 10ml with registration number 016284 and registration number VM 583 expiring in March 2027.

This recall follows a previous alert issued on January 29, 2026, for certain batches of Injection SATAMIN. Authorities have emphasized strict compliance to protect animal health and maintain the safety and quality of veterinary products across Punjab.
