The BISP Sahulat Account launching in 2026 is set to transform how millions of families in Pakistan receive Benazir Income Support Program payments. This digital payment solution allows direct transfers into secure accounts, removing delays, agents, and unfair deductions. The account is part of Pakistan’s Digital Payment Reform Program and is designed to provide financial autonomy, particularly empowering women. Through partnerships with commercial banks and mobile wallet services, the system ensures safe, efficient, and transparent access to funds. Key features include direct cash transfers, secure transactions, and multiple withdrawal options through ATMs, retail outlets, and mobile wallets. The account is registered in the woman’s name, giving her complete control and protection from exploitation while introducing rural women to digital banking services. Biometric verification via NADRA thumbprint ensures that only the rightful account holder can access the funds, and there are no hidden fees or maintenance charges. Phase 1 of the rollout will begin in Lahore, Multan, Karachi, Quetta, Peshawar, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Muzaffarabad, with expansion to other areas planned later. Partner banks and digital wallet services include HBL Konnect, UBL Omni, Bank Alfalah, Easypaisa, Mobilink Microfinance Bank, and First Women Bank Limited, enabling widespread accessibility. To register, eligible BISP beneficiaries will receive a confirmation SMS from 8171. They must visit a partner bank or agent with their CNIC and SIM card registered in their name for biometric verification and completion of the registration form. Once verified, the account is activated immediately, and SMS notifications are sent when payments are deposited. Required documents include the original CNIC, SIM card, SMS confirmation, and optionally a utility bill for address verification. Eligibility requires BISP beneficiary status, registration in the NSER database, a valid CNIC, SIM in the woman’s name, and the woman must be the head of the household. The BISP Sahulat Account empowers women by giving them direct access to their government payments, promoting financial independence and dignity, reducing reliance on intermediaries, and ensuring secure, efficient management of funds. This initiative is a major step toward financial inclusion and women’s empowerment in Pakistan. Go back |
