The Pakistan Naanbai Association has announced that roti and naan prices will remain unchanged until the 30th of Ramazan, despite a sharp increase in the cost of flour, ghee, LPG, labor, electricity, and tandoor rent. The decision was made by the association’s General Council, which includes representatives from Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Murree, Talagang, and surrounding areas, with the meeting chaired by Central President Shafiq Qureshi. The association said that prices will rise after Eidul Fitr, with roti and naan becoming Rs. 5 more expensive, while paratha and roghni naan will see a Rs. 10 increase. The leadership explained that operating at current rates has become financially unsustainable due to rising input costs. According to the association, the price of a 79-kg bag of flour has jumped from Rs. 7,600 to Rs. 11,700, while fine flour has increased from Rs. 8,200 to Rs. 12,600. They warned that flour prices could rise further by up to Rs. 2,200 per bag by the end of Ramazan. Commercial LPG cylinder prices have also surged to Rs. 16,000, with labor and utility expenses climbing significantly as well. The association criticized the district administration for not controlling these rising input costs and warned that continued pressure could force tandoors to shut down after Eid if the situation does not improve.
