A major Rs100 million housing scam has been exposed in Pakistan Railways, revealing over 200 fake allotments of residential quarters in Lahore and Mughalpura. An inquiry by the Directorate General of Vigilance uncovered that several officials were involved in forging documents, fabricating signatures, and issuing fake G-10 forms to carry out illegal housing allocations.

Investigators found that railway properties were fraudulently allotted and in some cases rented out for personal gain. Authorities have arrested several suspects, including a clerk accused of using counterfeit paperwork to falsely claim and lease official quarters. A special investigation team has been constituted to ensure transparency, recover financial losses, and identify all individuals linked to the scam.

The exposure of this large-scale housing fraud highlights ongoing efforts to curb corruption within government institutions and reinforce accountability in public asset management.
