Islamabad Metro Feeder Bus Route Altered Following Dispute with NHA

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has rerouted the Metro Bus feeder service FR-10 after the National Highway Authority (NHA) imposed toll tax restrictions at Sangjani, Interior Minister Senator Mohsin Naqvi informed the National Assembly.

In a written reply, the minister explained that the original FR-10 route connected several key areas, including 26 Number, Tarnol, G-15, G-16, Saifia Road, Sarai Kharbooza, E-16, E-17, and Sangjani, before extending to Taxila. However, due to the toll restrictions, the CDA has temporarily diverted the route through alternative roads, which has reduced accessibility for residents in these sectors and nearby suburban localities.

Senator Naqvi noted that the CDA plans to restore the original route once the toll exemption issue is resolved with the NHA. The authority has already submitted a formal request seeking toll exemption for the feeder’s electric buses that operate between 26 Chungi and Taxila. Once approved, this exemption will allow the resumption of direct operations along the original corridor, reconnecting Islamabad’s outer sectors to the central public transport network.

He added that the CDA remains committed to improving public mobility under Islamabad’s future transport corridor plan, emphasizing that the restoration of FR-10 will enhance connectivity, reduce travel time, and expand sustainable transport options for commuters across the capital region.
